On a retiral

We shared Octoberfuls tasty with appletea
under tangerine trees. I asked what he did. Ah

The Royal Bank pays me, but I
source old harpsichords which I restore.
Some need me for years. I play them then
pass them to others who love them.

My passion. That’s who I am.

So here’s to that man and to all of us here –
proud parents, and fine folk with five
notions for futrats. To the foragers, tick-seekers, the boilers of berries,
to people who pastel gean blossom, to the big ones who squeeze
into kid’s rainbow wellies and jump puddles. To protesters
to sledgers, to singers up sycamores, to wild garlic walkers
to swimmers near crannogs. To dogwalkers stopped at great
shaggings of frogs. To lovers, to Latvian learners, to the caring
the crazy, those laughers and to all of the people we are

without pay.
