These Windows: Acknowledgements
Every year this student-led publishing project starts with a sense of anxiety and excitement. Because we don’t always know where the project will take us, we are understandably nervous about its outcome. In different ways, everyone feels their way along the path―sometimes hesitantly, sometimes boldly―but always attentive to how and where the lines on the page spool out. We might set aside what we’ve done and start again, but we learn from every stop and start. We might risk following that line out into places that we didn’t know about. And always we return to write, edit and graft some more.
“These Windows” started as a collaborative project with the V&A Dundee in late January but the idea of windows into and out of the V&A Dundee (and then London) emerged late in the process. The gathering up of work provides its own glorious alchemy, and enables the collection to be more than the sum of its parts. With this creative gathering we are once again so very excited about the prospect of these imagined windows providing surprise, pleasure and joy in difficult times when we’re all staring out of our own domestic windows.
As tutors, we also learn from our students, and are therefore so grateful to all the writers and artists that have contributed to “These Windows”. Finally, this project would not have come together at all were it not for the following institutions and individuals:
