Graduates using bold, graphic styles include Zofia Chamienia’s use of flat, contrasting colours
creates a collage-like effect, with bold colourways such as hot pink, orange and white on a black
background. Her simplified figures are full of lively movement and energy. Tia Fox has created a
beautiful set of large, wooden 2-d images of dinosaurs, to complement her informative children’s
book. Her use of intense, dark greens and browns creates a sense of weight for the reptiles and gives
the illusion of a natural environment for them.

England’s Green (Shortlisted, TS Eliot Prize)

England’s Green is Zaffar Kunial’s second poetry collection. Everything about England in our cultural subconscious is intimated beautifully in these two words; the reader knows intuitively that within these pages there will be a world of exploration on that theme. Kunial’s previous collection, ‘Us’, was shortlisted for many poetry prizes, and was highly praised for its ‘ability to find meaning and symbolism in the hearth and home’. This collection undoubtedly sustains that investigation into the meaning of ‘home’.

Limbo is a poetry collection by Georgi Gill, doctoral researcher in Health in Social Sciences at Edinburgh University and the inaugural Poet-in Residence at the Anatomical Museum of the University of Edinburgh. She is the editor of the web-based poetry journal, ‘The Interpreter’s House’. She states on her web site that she enjoys blending poetry with fiction and the structure of this collection certainly confirms that.
